My first post as a newbie GTI MkV owner.
I recently bought a 2009 MkV GTI (DSG) and have two weird and annoying electrical problems:
1. I have a warning message on the MFD (accompanied by the light symbol warning sign on the mph gauge) when I start the car advising me that my front right main beam is not working - odd considering that the lights work just fine.
2. When I drive the GTI at night when the headlight are on and the car is under acceleration if I put the main beam on (or flash) or use the horn there is a millisecond loss of power where everything cuts off (lights, dash, head unit). It is literally a millisecond but nevertheless it is unsettling. It ONLY happens when the lights are on AND the car is accelerating (if stationary or not accelerating there is no power loss) - very weird.
Any thoughts on how to resolve?
